
It is a natural
milk
subjected
to a thermal process called ULTRA-HIGH TEMPERATURE PROCESSING
which uses very high temperatures (150º) for very
short times (4 seconds), thereby ensuring the destruction of all
micro-organisms but preserving the purity intact. Due to its high
nutritional value, it constitutes a very complete food product,
providing proteins, lactose (the sugar contained in milk), calcium,
phosphorous, vitamins and dairy fat that each person needs in their
diet.
The UHT milk aseptic container guarantees the lengthy preservation of
the product, even when maintained at room temperature.
However, once the container has been opened, it must be kept
in the fridge.
A+D
Through a partial or total skimming process, a semi-skimmed or skimmed
milk is obtained. The skimming extracts, together with the
fat, the vitamins dissolved therein, such as vitamins A and D, which
play a part in visual function and the metabolism of calcium,
respectively. That is why Puleva replaces A+D in its milks,
the vitamins that were lost in the skimming process.
