THE PRINCE OF ASTURIAS VISITS
THE "SPANISH CHALLENGE 2007"
Madrid,
15th of November, 2006.
A special guest at the
"Spanish Challenge 2007”
For a few hours Prince Felipe became crewmate 18 on the "Spanish
Challenge 2007" boat, the only Spanish representative to take part in
the Americas Cup. Accompanied by the highest authorities of
the organisation, he visited the premises of the "Spanish Challenge
2007" as well as the boat that will be participating in the competition
in order to greet the crew and convey his confidence in the skill,
professionalism and ability of the team to win this prestigious
competition.
PULEVA, the same as the Prince, feels fully involved in this project as
its support for sports, a healthy lifestyle and good eating habits
constitutes one of the cornerstones of its philosophy.
PULEVA will be there supporting the Spanish team and celebrating the
success of a team made up of 100 people and which has a very
competitive crew, who are very well prepared, and with great enthusiasm
for setting a high track record.
A few months ago PULEVA signed an agreement whereby the leading Spanish
food company became the sole alimentary Official Sponsor of the Spanish
team in the 32nd edition of the America's Cup. It is not the
first time that PULEVA supports the sport of sailing as during the 80's
it also sponsored the Spanish team in the America's Cup, which makes it
a veteran company when it comes to supporting Spanish sports and
promoting the practice of exercise amongst the youngest and the
development of healthy lifestyle habits.
This competition, which takes place in the waters of
the Comunidad Valenciana, constitutes one of the most
important sailing competitions in the world. This year, the competition
is being held in Europe for the first ime in more than 140 years and
the conditions in Valencia and the variation in the rules governing the
design of the boats will enable the regattas to be more vibrant and
interesting and the boats to achieve their optimum performance.
Puleva and sports
PULEVA has a great commitment to sports and to adequate
nutrition for the prevention of obesity; carrying out public activities
relating to the promotion of healthy eating habits and the practice of
sports. As a result of this commitment, PULEVA has worked
with different entities such as the ACB (Association of Basketball
Clubs), the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs, the Town Council
of Madrid and the Spanish Agency for Food Safety in order to
incentivise physical activity, stimulate healthy lifestyle habits and
provide information about the positive effects upon health of a
balanced diet and regular
physical exercise.
