PULEVA Biotech S.A. was founded in the year 2000 as part of the Ebro-PULEVA group , the largest agri-food group in Spain. The driving force behind this business project is the PULEVA FOOD R+D Department, founded in 1974.  Over the last 30 years this department has represented a strategic element and has actively contributed to the differentiation and economic development of the company.

The principal milestones achieved over all these years have been the following:

· Development and commercialisation of the first infant formula supplemented with nucleotides on a worldwide scale (nucleotides).
· Development of one of the first combinations of oils and fat for infant nutrition (Omega3 oils).
· Pioneers in the development of functional foods in Europe.
